Albert (Mike) Souza Jr. Retired Major in USAF and alumnus of UOP, Stockton.
Al was born October 23, 1942 in Long Beach, California. He married Marilyn Workmon on June 18, 1965 in Fresno (Calwa), California. Albert died on November 26, 2016, at Redlands Community Hospital, after a long illness.

Albert (Mike) Souza Jr. Retired Major in USAF and alumnus of UOP, Stockton.
Al was born October 23, 1942 in Long Beach, California. He married Marilyn Workmon on June 18, 1965 in Fresno (Calwa), California. Albert died on November 26, 2016, at Redlands Community Hospital, after a long illness.
Albert was predeceased by his parents, Albert Sr. and Marie and his younger sister, Elayne Lester. He leaves behind his wife of fifty-one years, Marilyn Souza, as well as his children, Michael Souza, Missy Souza VanSoest (Chris), John Souza (Erin), Thomas Souza. Five Grandchildren: Bailey VanSoest, Peyton VanSoest, Owen Souza, Ella Souza and Maggie Souza. He also leaves behind his brother James Souza and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Al attended Catholic schools through eighth grade. He then graduated from Artesia High School (Artesia, Ca.) in 1960. After high School, he enlisted in the USAF for four years. In 1965, he returned to Fresno, Ca. where he met and married Marilyn. At the end of 1965, he reenlisted in the Air Force for another four years. In 1969, Al was honorably discharged from the military early, to attend College. He attended Fresno City College and earned a 2-year degree. He then continued on to earn his PhD in a three year Pharmacy program at the University of the Pacific, in Stockton, California. He graduated from UOP, in 1976.
After passing his Calif. State Pharmacy Boards, he served as a Lt. in the Public Health Service, stationed at the FDA in Washington D.C.
In 1977, Albert left the Public Health Service to enter the USAF as an officer. He served out the rest of his 20-year military career in the USAF, eventually retiring as a Major in the regular USAF.
He was stationed various places including bases in Florida, Georgia, Clark AFB (Philippines), Holloman AFB (New Mexico), Lackland AFB (Texas), Anderson AFB (Guam), Norton AFB (Ca.), and LA AFB (Ca.).
After retiring from the Air Force, Al worked as a Pharmacist at Kaiser hospitals and clinics, and various retail Pharmacies in Southern Ca. He also worked at Loma Linda Hospital at the end of his career.
Albert was a member of the Catholic Church and UFCW Pharmacy union. He was a lifelong enthusiastic runner, who enjoyed daily runs and marathons. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. All who knew him will miss his honesty, integrity, kindness, humor and generosity. Al and Marilyn were blessed to share more than fifty-one years of marriage.
