Charles "Chuck" Reynolds died peacefully in Redlands, California on May 16, 2017 surrounded by family, at the age of 88.
Chuck was born on December 10, 1928 to Alexander and Orpha Reynolds in Hollis, New York. He moved to California in 1945 with his family and graduated from San Bernardino High School in 1946. He went on to pursue journalism and excelled in track at San Bernardino Valley College, before completing his Master's Degree at California State University Los Angeles.
Chuck began his teaching career in Needles, California before moving to San Bernardino School District, where he then became a beloved principal for nearly twenty years. After retiring from education, he earned a real estate and broker's license. He was an active member of Kiwanis, as well as having served on the board at Rialto First Assembly of God Church. Chuck will forever be remembered as a devoted Dodgers fan, from Brooklyn to Los Angeles.
Chuck and his wife Cindy, of 42 years, were together constantly. They enjoyed visiting their family, and traveling through 44 states, walking always hand in hand. A great accomplishment they share is traveling over 1,000 miles of the Lewis and Clark Trail.
Chuck was pre-deceased by his loving wife and two children, Harold Schmid and Carol Schmid. He is survived by children, Rick (Donna) Reynolds of Highland, CA, Lynn (Don) Austin of North Las Vegas, NV; by grandchildren, Jim Austin, Kristi Castro, Jennifer Chavez, Kimberly Elgin, Jeff Flaherty, Tammy Flaherty, Julia Macias, Daniel Reynolds, Todd Reynolds, Joe Schmid and Carolyn Weaver; and by 31 great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Chuck always made family and friends a top priority, and he will be greatly missed by all.
