Lan Sean Chiou, otherwise known as Jean Hayes, was born on July 24, 1931 in Chiayi, Taiwan. She had opened a dress shop with her sisters Beadie and Shurly in the city of Chiayi. They were well known and ran the business for ten years. Jean moved to the United States when she was thirty -three years old on December 7, 1963. Lan Sean Chiou, otherwise known as Jean Hayes, was born on July 24, 1931 in Chiayi, Taiwan. She had opened a dress shop with her sisters Beadie and Shurly in the city of Chiayi. They were well known and ran the business for ten years. Jean moved to the United States when she was thirty -three years old on December 7, 1963. She continued to make dresses for military families along with Shurly. Toward the end of 1964, Jean met Harvey Ross Hayes at the San Bernardino Dance Hall. Shortly afterwards, on March 20, 1965, they got married. On February 2, 1966, they had a daughter and named her Junice Lansean. In 1969, she opened an alteration shop in San Bernardino, California. Her and Beadie ran the business for thirty-four years. She enjoyed going to church, traveling and especially watching her grandchildren Brandyn and Brittany grow up.
