Yolanda Alvarez, 66, passed away the morning of January 3, 2018 at Riverside University medical center.

She leaves behind her two daughters Luz Alvarez and Roxana (Ambriz)Alvarez her son Cesar Alvarez, thirteen grand children and four great grandchildren.

Born January 10, 1951 in Escuintla, Guatemala where she worked as a nurse until 1980 when she along with her husband and her two kids (Luz and Cesar) came to the United States. In 1981 she added another little girl to the family, Roxana.

For almost 25 years she worked as a housekeeper. She took great pride in her work but her passion and drive was her family and friends. She was always ready to make a new friend. Her smile was warming and captured your heart right away.

Her greatest joys were her grandchildren. She always wanted to make sure they were happy and safe. She spoiled them the only way she could by squeezing them tight and kissing them hard every chance she got.

Always supportive she made sure her three kids did not see all the heartbreak and pain she suffered. Even for a regular immunizations she would sit there and just take the shot with no reaction. Doctors and nurses would often comment on how she would never show pain. She was the strongest woman you'd ever meet.

A funeral service will be held for her on Wednesday January 23 at 10am at Montecito Memorial Park and Cemetery, 3520 East Washington St, Colton, Ca 92324.

In leu of flowers we are asking that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
